Database and Supporter Care Volunteer (Stepps Office)
Both our Database and Supporter Care Teams are based in our busy friendly Stepps office, providing vital support to our fundraising activities. You will mainly be helping our Database Team to ensure the information held on the CHAS database is accurate but also support the smooth running of the Fundraising Office, ensuring money is counted, supporters thanked and donations are processed quickly and accurately.
The time you give will help us to generate as much money as possible for CHAS so we can support children with a life-shortening condition across Scotland.
How much time should I offer?
One half day per week. The time commitment is flexible, and you can discuss this with your supervisor.
What ongoing learning/support/guidance will I receive?
It’s important to us that you feel happy, safe and confident in your role. As a CHAS volunteer you will be invited to complete a short core learning package that is tailored to your role. We are always developing new opportunities for volunteers to learn and offer a range of options for volunteers.
We have also partnered with the Skills Network to offer all our volunteers the chance to develop new skills and explore further learning opportunities.
What are the benefits to the children and families supported by CHAS?
The volunteers in our Stepps office are often the first point of contact for families and supporters, so a friendly, warm response at the end of the phone or in person can help to make a big difference to their impression and overall experience of CHAS; supporting with administrative tasks helps to ensure that our office runs smoothly. Helping us to maintain the accuracy of information on our database is vital in supporting our fundraising team to raise as much money as possible to fund our services. It also means that our Finance Team is able to report and complete their work efficiently and CHAS operates within the data protection laws.
What else should I know?
We will pay your out of pocket expenses in line with the CHAS volunteer expenses policy.
CHAS is committed to providing a quality volunteering experience to all volunteers, free from discrimination and prejudice. Ensuring that CHAS is an equal, diverse, and inclusive organisation improves the quality of care we provide, helps us reach more families and children, and maximises a wide variety of knowledge, experience and expertise.
We welcome volunteer applications from those who are refugees, asylum seekers, benefit claimants and those with a disability. We can provide more information about your eligibility to volunteer and any reasonable adjustments we can put in place to ensure your volunteering experience is a positive one.
