Community Fundraising Support Volunteer (Robin House, Balloch)

Opportunity image

You will be representing CHAS in your local area, meeting and thanking supporters, setting up “big cheque” photos, both at our hospices and in your local community, and occasionally collecting and receipting donations at the same time. You will be confident and comfortable talking about the history of CHAS and the vital services we provide, along with our seasonal fundraising campaigns.

How much time should I offer?

This is a flexible role with lots of variety and some periods will be much busier than others. Your local Community Fundraiser, who will be your volunteer manager, will be happy to chat about how much time you can commit to the role.

What ongoing learning/support/guidance will I receive?

It’s important to us that you feel happy, safe and confident in your role. As a CHAS volunteer you will be invited to complete a short core learning package that is tailored to your role. We are always developing new opportunities for volunteers to learn and offer a range of options for volunteers. Your Volunteer Manager will provide you with ongoing support and guidance in your role. We have also partnered with the Skills Network to offer all our volunteers the chance to develop new skills and explore further learning opportunities.

What are the benefits to the children and families supported by CHAS?

You will be supporting the CHAS Fundraising Team to help CHAS to raise as much money as possible for children with a life-shortening condition. Community Fundraising Support volunteers are often the first point of contact for the public, so you will be a real ambassador in your local community and can help to make a big difference to first impressions and awareness of CHAS.

What else should I know?

We will pay your out of pocket expenses in line with the CHAS volunteer expenses policy.

CHAS is committed to providing a quality volunteering experience to all volunteers, free from discrimination and prejudice. Ensuring that CHAS is an equal, diverse, and inclusive organisation improves the quality of care we provide, helps us reach more families and children, and maximises a wide variety of knowledge, experience and expertise.

We welcome volunteer applications from those who are refugees, asylum seekers, benefit claimants and those with a disability. We can provide more information about your eligibility to volunteer and any reasonable adjustments we can put in place to ensure your volunteering experience is a positive one.
