Join the Gordon Friends of CHAS in Ellon

Make a difference, meet great people, and have fun — all on your terms.

Are you passionate about helping others but juggling a busy schedule? We get it. That’s why we’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic locals in Ellon to join our CHAS Fundraising Group - no long-term commitment, just come along help at events when you can spare the time.

What’s it all about?

CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) supports children with life-shortening conditions and their families. Our fundraising groups are the local heartbeat of CHAS - raising awareness and vital funds through fun, community-based events.

Whether you're helping out at a bake sale, shaking a bucket at a local supermarket, or brainstorming ideas for the next big fundraiser, your time and energy will help bring joy and support to families who need it most.

How much time do I need to give?

As much or as little as you like!
We’re all about flexibility - pop in when you can, help out at an event, or just lend a hand behind the scenes. No pressure, no regular meetings (unless you want to!).

What support will I get?

You’ll be welcomed by a friendly group of volunteers and supported by the Group Lead. We’ll make sure you have everything you need to feel confident and enjoy your time with us.

Why it matters

Every pound you help raise goes directly to supporting children and families across Scotland. You’ll be part of something truly special — bringing hope, smiles, and support when it’s needed most.

Perks of volunteering

  • Be part of a fun, welcoming community
  • Boost your CV and learn new skills
  • Make a real difference locally
  • We cover your out-of-pocket expenses

Everyone’s welcome

CHAS is proud to be inclusive and diverse. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds — including refugees, asylum seekers, benefit claimants, and those with disabilities. If you need any adjustments to make volunteering easier, just let us know.
